Seoul Sunbae (seoulsunbae.com) is a travel guide for first-time visitors to Korea, written by your sunbae. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What We Collect
Nothing you type into a form, because there are no sign ups. Seoul Sunbae has no accounts, no newsletter and no comment section.
Things stored only in your own browser. The Seoul passport checklist, the trip budget, the station stamps and your light or dark mode choice are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are still there next time. They never leave your device, and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
Basic server logs. Our web host (HostGator) keeps standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Site statistics. We may use privacy friendly statistics to count visits and see which guides are useful. These do not identify you personally.
Services We Load From Other Companies
To work properly, some pages load content from other services, which may receive your IP address when they do:
- Google Fonts for the site’s typefaces.
- OpenStreetMap map tiles (through the Leaflet map) for the maps in each guide.
- Links to Naver Map, KakaoMap and Google Maps. These only open if you tap them, and then that company’s own privacy policy applies.
Affiliate Links
Some guides contain affiliate links to booking sites. If you book through one, the booking site may set its own cookie so it knows the visit came from us. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how this works. We never take commissions from clinics or hospitals.
Your Choices
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. The site still works without them; your checklist and stamps just will not be remembered.
Children
Seoul Sunbae is written for adult travellers and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes And Contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Questions about privacy: Contact.
This policy describes how the site works today. It is general information, not legal advice.
